Compagnie Uzumaki
JE suis TOI

Duration : 30 mn

«I was fascinated by the shadows in an image seen in the show Promenade obligatoire byAnne Nguyen and wanted to develop a choreographic work on this theme, through the aesthetic of  bboying. The dancing duo will allow me to develop this theme. It will be mixed : the male character will have a feminine shadow to express the ambivalence of a man’s femininity. But the shadow will also be able to become masculine, and the female character real. Between fiction and dream, where is the limit? The shadow will act as a catalyst of the fears and desires of the character. I take inspiration from the Hikikomori social isolation phenomenon (young adult that chooses to break from the outside world by locking themselves in an enclosed space) to tell the erratic quest of an individual whose life has lost all meaning, a person who wishes to leave their isolation to take back their life and face the others and their shadow (themself). In this mixte duo, through a game of oppositions, imbrications, flight or approach, the two performers practice breakdancing in a very fluid way, with great technique in their movements on the ground. Breakdance (a very individual dance) is transformed into a dance of contact to the rhythm of the acoustic or electronic drums. »

Compagnie Nous

Duration : 20 mn

The Company Nous, La compagnie Nous from Tokyo is formed of the dancers  Kou Yamamoto and Rion Watley. It is a refreshing duo on the expression of life and what it can provoke within us. This dance, sometimes prettily distorted, bursts through the barriers of the hip-hop genre and prompts awareness in the audience : awareness of the sensations of the moment and of one’s body. NOUS’s expression has no meaning or purpose. It tries to trigger an awakening and to disperse freely, like positive pieces leading towards the future. The company also produce sound sources themselves.
