There are two stages to the preselections.
Stage 1: Teams selection willing to participate in batlles
All teams will present themselves in front of the judges. Each team will have 1 minute (30 seconds per dancer). Once all the teams have performed, judges will choose the teams that will participate in the second stage of the preselections, the battles. When less than 8 teams have registered in a category, they do not need to participate in stage 1 and are directly selected for stage 2. For the experimental category, dancers present themselves one by one in front of the judges. Each dancer has 1 minute. 8 dancers of this category will be selected for stage 2.
Stage 2: Battles
There will be quarter – final, semi-finals and finals. In quarter-finals, dancers have 1 round of 1 minute per dancer. In semi-finals and in finals, teams have 2 rounds of 1 minute per dancer. For the experimental category, dancers present themselves one by one in front of the judges. Each dancer has 1 round of 1 minute.
How are winners selected? 4 judges rule after each battle. Each vote counts for one except the one of the judge of the running category, whose vote counts double.
Winners of each category are qualified to present themselves at the QUALIFICATIONS of Juste Debout that will take place Saturday March 4th 2017 in Paris. Juste Debout World Finals will take place Sunday March 5th 2017 at AccorHotels Arena (formerly known as Palais Omnisport de Paris Bercy)
Transportation and accommodation expenses to Paris are taken care of by the organization of Juste Debout Switzerland. If the winners don’t live in the preselection country where they got selected, in this case Switzerland, the organization of Juste Debout Switzerland will transfer to them an amount equal to the cost of a roundtrip from Switzerland to Paris.
